Burnt out light bulbs into glamorous Xmas tree ornaments

Hello everyone! I guess that this is the best time of the year for people who love to craft and decorate, thus all the crafty bloggers! It took me more than I expected to finish crafting my new Xmas ornaments since I have so little free time these days.
This was a pretty recent idea, that's why I made so few, I usually give the burnt out light bulbs to a specific place for recycling :-)

My materials were acrylic paint, glitter, nail polish (oh, yes!), instant glue, scrap fabric and ribbons in order to turn this:

     Into this:

    And these :

   Into these:

    Aren't they gorgeous?

Top angel Christmas ornament

I wasn't too sleepy last night so I started making an ornament for the top of our Christmas tree. I had found this carton cone that had the remains of a golden thread on it which must have been one of my grandmothers sewing materials.

I kept the thread for hanging the rest of the ornaments I'm about to make (yes, I will make a post about them :-)), and glued some scrap fabrics I had on the cone. (I'm sorry about the lack of pictures here but it was pretty late...)

I had to find a fancy head for my angel though, so I thought that a beer cap would do:

It was too late to come with a better idea than wings out of paper, so..I made this awful drawings and tried to fix it while cutting it out... I know I can do better :

Glued the pieces together and with a stapler Ι attached the wings on the cone. I used a big paperclip that I bent into a halo:

So, it  is not that bad, is it?
I'll be back soon with some more recycled ornaments!!!

Milk carton into baby night lantern

This is a classic project, I started crafting it though since I needed a night light for my little baby boy. All you need is an empty milk carton, a light bulb and a cable and loads of fantasy!

This was my milk carton (bad picture, I know...) :

By using a cutter I made the door and windows:

With some acrylic paint, colored paper and fabric scraps:

And now the boring part with the help of my sweetheart of course:

I connected the lamp to the lamp socket and the cable, and in order to keep it standing in the carton, I passed the cable through an empty vitamins box ( please don't sue me this time :-P)

And now we put it inside the box and:

Any ideas? What else can you do with a milk carton?

Fix and up-cycle broken sunglasses using sugru!

Have you ever heard of sugru? It is a relatively new material, a self-setting rubber for fixing and improving stuff. I didn't know about it either, but then my husband ordered it over the internet and I kept making fun of him and how he's going to fix everything with it until I used it myself.
You can do a lot of things with it, for a start I decided to fix my favorite sunglasses I broke beyond repair a couple of months ago:

I took a little piece of sugru and formed it into a ball the size of a pea, then used it to connect the pieces of the broken arm together:

I let it hanging like this to dry for 24 hours and since it was not so stable I repeated the step adding some more sugru :

After 24 hours I decorated the fix with a ball of sugru that I flattened over the side of the connection. I made the pattern using the back of a paintbrush:

And in the end I added a little strass:

Remember: you have to press the gem stone hard into the sugru mass so it doesn't fall of. Mine did :-))

So, what did you fix lately? I'd like to hear about your repairs!

Bottle caps frame decoration

I bought these really cheap  frames a month ago in order to make something with all these bottle caps I've been collecting:

Glued the caps with instant glue:

...and with some orange craft paper stripes:

Place your picture and it's ready!
